| Education is
the very foundation of economic growth. With that in mind,
DeSoto Parish is committed to lifelong learning. Our students
can go from preschool to college without ever leaving the area.
Students that aim for four-year college degrees can pursue their
education at numerous colleges and universities in the area.
Centenary College, LSU-S and Southern University are all located
in nearby Shreveport. Two-year degrees are available at Bossier
Parish Community College along with several vocational technical
schools including
Louisiana
Technical College in Mansfield, Louisiana. They all work hard to provide the skills necessary for
today’s job market. Northwestern State University offers
continuing education night classes in Mansfield. The main campus
is located less than one hour’s commute away.
